Teeth should be brushed twice daily and flossed once but what else can be done to keep our teeth and gums in top condition? Obviously, seeing the dentist regularly, or when dental issues arise, is of prime importance but there are other best practices that should be followed.
• Using toothpaste containing fluoride
• Using an antibacterial mouthwash
• Limiting the consumption of sugary foods, snacks and drinks
Smoking and tobacco products should also be avoided as these not only stain the tongue and teeth but also slow healing after a dental procedure and increase the risk of gum disease.
